Mahindra UDO: Redefining Comfort and Design

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, India’s No.1 electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, introduced the Mahindra UDO as a next-generation e-auto designed to elevate driver dignity and passenger comfort.

The word “UDO” means “to fly” in Hindi, symbolizing aspiration and progress for last-mile mobility customers.

Designed by Mahindra’s Chief Design and Creative Officer — Auto and Farm Sectors, M&M Ltd., Pratap Bose, along with the Mahindra India Design Studio, the vehicle features an airplane-inspired aerodynamic look. Bold headlamps, stylish mirrors, and a large windshield create a distinctive road presence.

Built on a segment-first full monocoque construction, the vehicle delivers higher structural strength and ride quality.

Inside, the “autoplane” includes ergonomically designed seating with a pilot seat for the driver, nearly 20% thicker than comparable vehicles, and first-class passenger seating with generous legroom and headroom.

An independent rear suspension and dual fork front suspension enhance stability and ride comfort on rough roads.

Powerful Performance of Mahindra UDO

The Mahindra UDO delivers a best-in-class real-world driving range of 200 km, with a 265 km ARAI-certified range, making it one of the most energy-efficient vehicles in its segment.

The vehicle is powered by an IP67-rated 11.7 kWh laser-welded Li-ion battery pack and a PMS motor producing 10 kW peak power and 52 Nm torque. Regenerative braking, combined with a first-in-segment reverse throttle, enables seamless speed control and extended driving range.

These features aim to improve driver productivity and efficiency in city operations.

Safety, Warranty, and Ownership Benefits

The Mahindra UDO comes with a warranty of 1.5 lakh km or 6 years, whichever is earlier. The IP67-rated battery, drivetrain, and charger ensure reliable performance in extreme weather conditions.

Safety features include:

  • Powerful drum brakes with least braking distance in the segment
  • 30.48 cm tubeless tyres
  • Stable vehicle control systems

Mahindra is also offering industry-first free services until 1 lakh km. Customers purchasing the vehicle are enrolled in the UDAY NXT scheme, which includes ₹20 lakh accidental insurance, financial counselling, and additional support services.

The vehicle is manufactured at Mahindra’s Zaheerabad plant, which includes automated battery assembly and robotised production lines.

Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, said: “At Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, our purpose is to electrify the last mile transportation to meaningfully improve lives of customers. With this launch, we are taking a decisive step in that direction.
